I created these 3 posters purely from inspiration of the World Cup and 3 players for me who have stood out. There are a lot of great footballing artworks around at the moment so I thought I would try my hand at creating my own. I hope you enjoy.
ESPN Have released their World Cup 2014 posters which are to be used across their media coverage for this years tournament. The posters themselves have been created by the very talented Cristiano Siqueria of Brazil. Below are a selection of the posters ESPN have made, the full collection can be viewed here.
Sketch to Digital all-in-one.
For any of you that don't know Wacom have released a product named the 'Inkling', it is essentially graphic tablet pen that records the image you are drawing or writing and produces a digital format of it.
This works by a small piece of kit that you can attach to the top of a page that is linked to the pen, when you start drawing or writing the pen records what you are doing and sends the information back to the device, much like a Graphics Tablet.
I've just completed another tutorial from the brilliant Chris Spooner's webpage, Spoon Graphics. I think the tutorial was posted last year and I somehow missed it.
As usual with Chris' work he explains everything really well step by step. I wanted to take a slightly different stance with my piece and focused on somewhere I had been before.
You can find the tutorial here, Create a Trendy Retro Cityscape Design in Photoshop and you can also follow Chris on twitter @chrisspooner where he often updates with tutorials and inspiration.
I have today signed up to Dribbble to gain even more inspiration for new work after really delving into Behance and Pinterest in the past week or so.
Browsing the great work that is posted on these sites has really opened my eyes to how much diversity there is in Design in general and has led me to be inspired to create some illustrations of my own.
I have always been a keen artist and used to doodle all the time and sketch all the time but it's something I have not done for some time.
Seeing the great work out there and specifically the work in which you can see the method of design makes me ask the question; why aren't you doing this?
Hopefully in the next few months I will start to create pieces and 'blog them up' for you to see and comment on.
