I had better caveat that this may contain SPOILERS!
This weekend myself and my wife started (and finished!) watching Making A Murderer. I hadn't read or seen anything about it but had heard from various people how good it was and usually with a lot of attention like that it usually means it may be worth watching.
Making A Murderer is a 10 hour documentary series on Netflix which documents an American man by the name of Steven Avery. In 1985 Avery was convicted of rape falsely and went to prison for 18 years of his life before new evidence came to light that freed him, correctly, of prison.
When we saw the details of this case unfold we were amazed. Steven Avery was suing the State Police for $36m for his time wrongly imprisoned, a sum that many had said the State could not afford both financially and from an embarrassment stand point. Whilst this lawsuit was ongoing Steven Avery was arrested for the Murder of Teresa Halbach simply because he was the last person to see her alive.
The evidence and story that followed is little short of dumbfounding. There are so many twists and turns in this 'story' that it really is hard to believe it's not made up.
I hope this hasn't given away too much of the series. I don't want to say too much in case you have not seen it but if you have a Netflix account or not, make sure you see this NOW.
